Farewell Options (as at 1 April 2023)

Bay Cremation Care is dedicated to creating low cost cremation options along with advice from industry experienced and qualified staff. Please feel comfortable to talk to us about financial matters. We are conscious of costs and different circumstances and can help create a fitting farewell within your budget. There are funeral finance options available (subject to eligibility).

Although our packages are based on the crematorium chapel as a venue, we can tailor a service based at your chosen venue as well.

Often referred to as a Direct Cremation, there is no viewing, gathering or farewell with the Economy Farewell.

Economy Farewell

$3100.00 (incl GST)

  • Transfer of your loved one into our care
  • Personal attendance to make arrangements and complete cremation documentation with family
  • Providing a simple cremation casket (size dependent / not suitable for viewing)
  • Cremation and associated Fees
  • Transfer of your loved one to the Crematorium
  • Registering the death with the Department of Internal Affairs and providing a
    New Zealand Death Certificate
  • Personal return of the ashes and Death Certificate to family
  • The Doctor’s fee for completing cremation documentation
  • If eligible for the WINZ Funeral Grant, the remaining balance of our Economy Farewell would be $654.63

A simple gathering and cremation, ideally for up to 20 family and close friends. (not a formal funeral service)

Private Family Farewell

$4950.00 (incl GST)

  • Transfer of your loved one into our care
  • Essential body care of your loved one
  • Personal attendance to make arrangements and complete cremation documentation with family
  • Providing a simple cremation casket (size dependent) with a polished outer casket
  • Cremation and associated Fees
  • Transfer of your loved one to the Pyes Pa Memorial Park Chapel
  • Hireage of the Pyes Pa Memorial Park Chapel (for up to 30 minutes)
  • Directing of the private farewell
  • Registering the death with the Department of Internal Affairs and providing a
    New Zealand Death Certificate
  • Personal return of the ashes and Death Certificate to family
  • The Doctor’s fee for completing cremation documentation

A public, traditional funeral service held at the Pyes Pa Memorial Park Chapel for family and friends to gather and farewell their loved one.

Family & Friends Farewell

$5975.00 (incl GST)

  • Transfer of your loved one into our care
  • Essential body care of your loved one
  • Personal attendance to make arrangements and complete cremation documentation with family
  • Directing of the Public Farewell
  • Providing a simple cremation casket (size dependent) with a polished outer casket
  • Cremation and associated Fees
  • Transfer of your loved one to the Pyes Pa Memorial Park Chapel
  • Hireage of the Pyes Pa Memorial Park Chapel
  • Registering the death with the Department of Internal Affairs and providing a
    New Zealand Death Certificate
  • Personal return of the ashes and Death Certificate to family
  • The Doctor’s fee for completing cremation documentation

Economy Farewell with Viewing Time

$3750.00 (incl GST)

  • Transfer of your loved one into our care
  • Personal attendance to make arrangements and complete cremation documentation with family
  • Providing a simple cremation casket suitable for viewing (size dependent)
  • Essential body care of your loved one and facilitating viewing time
  • Cremation and associated Fees
  • Transfer of your loved one to the Crematorium
  • Registering the death with the Department of Internal Affairs and providing a
    New Zealand Death Certificate
  • Personal return of the ashes and Death Certificate to family
  • The Doctor’s fee for completing cremation documentation
  • If eligible for the WINZ Funeral Grant, the remaining balance of our Economy Farewell with viewing would be $1254.63

Assistance with Funeral Costs

There are a number of assistance packages to help with funeral costs (subject to eligibility)

Accident Compensation Corporation Accidental Death Grant – $7024.80

Veterans’ Affairs Funeral Contribution

Bay Cremation Care cannot apply for these grants on your behalf, but are more than happy to provide the correct forms and assist with completing them.
